Overview

The Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa allows skilled workers to come to Australia and work for an approved sponsor in a nominated occupation. This visa has four streams: Core Skills, Specialist Skills, Labour Agreement and Subsequent Entrant.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Have an occupation on the relevant skilled occupation list
  • Be nominated by an approved sponsor
  • Have relevant skills and qualifications
  • Have at least 2 years of work experience
  • Meet English language requirements
  • Meet health and character requirements
  • Stream-specific requirements vary.

  • Must work for an approved sponsor
  • Limited to the nominated occupation
  • Hold the 482 for 2 years, then if eligible, apply for permanent residence

Apply for permanent residence through the Temporary Residence Transition stream (subclass 186) visa after working for your sponsor for at least 2 years.
