How long will the visa take to be processed?

Basic Requirements

  • 'Must be nominated by an Australian employer who holds a valid Standard Business Sponsorship (SBS) or has lodged an application for an SBS.

  • Occupation must be on the relevant skilled occupation list.

  • Have a positive skill assessment from the relevant assessing authority for your occupation.

  • Meet the English language requirements.

  • Meet health and character requirements specified by the Australian government.

  • Have relevant work experience in your nominated occupation.

  • Must be offered a salary that meets the minimum requirements specified by the Australian government.

  • Arrange overseas health insurance.

  • Conduct a health check.

  • Obtain an Australian police check.

How long will the visa take to be processed?

  • Complete an Expression of Interest and be invited to apply by a state or territory government in Australia.

  • Have an occupation that is on the relevant skilled occupation list for the state or territory that has nominated you.

  • Obtain a positive skill assessment from the relevant assessing authority for your occupation.

  • Meet English language requirements.

  • Arrange overseas health insurance.

  • Conduct a health check.

  • Obtain an Australian police check.

  • Be under the age of 45 at the time of invitation to apply.

  • Score at least 65 points on the points test.
